The brand new, hand built Vector straps are now available via the TRP Camera Straps Page HERE for $27 delivered ($33 outside of the US). They’re light weight, low profile and comfortable wrist straps for any camera. Utilizing very high end materials, I’ve chosen to build these with both comfort and function in mind. They’re great when wanting to keep weight and bulk down, comfort up all while maintaining a casual, modern look.
The Vector Straps are now available along with the Garda and Cascade Straps. Come on in to see who won free straps from our social media giveaway…
The new TRP Vector straps are low profile, lightweight wrist straps made from blended, 24 plait braided line utilizing high end materials like Vectran, Cordura and high tenacity Polyester. Strength, style, fashion and function. Used in high performance, professional sailing, this rope is built to last. I personally, hand build each and every strap, and I’ve been testing these for the last 6 months. They’re dialed. The brand new, Vector straps will be released next week, and for a chance to win one, shipping included, I’m going to try something newish (for me and the blog anyway).
We’ve done a giveaway with each of the other straps, and this time, I wanted to also start up bit of a reward for helping me get the word out, guerrilla marketing style. Being that I hand build each and every strap myself, I want to do my best to keep costs as low as I can to both make enough money for this whole venture to make sense, but to keep the delivered price as low as possible to make sense for you as well. The more I can sell, the more I can invest, etc, etc. Kind of my own kickstarter so to speak, except you don’t have to put money in to get this going, I’ve already done that.
The idea here is getting the word out, and figuring out a way to reward those who help me do that. Here’s what I’m thinking…
With each passing month, these themes are bringing out more and more amazing photographs and this month was very difficult to choose our favorites. I could have settled on a dozen or more of the contributions myself, and I’m sure it was the same for Mat and Heather. If you haven’t seen them, feel free to stop by the Flickr threads (TRP Here and ML Here). For those new to this, each month, in collaboration with Heather and Mat from Mirrorlessons, we co-host monthly challenges where anyone can submit an image based on their interpretation of the theme. At the end of each month, we each choose an image we feel best represents the theme in our eyes, and we open up a vote, like this one. The vote runs for 5 days, and afterward, the totals are tallied and the winner chooses our new theme and the process begins again! Anyone can submit, so stay tuned for new themes. With that, we have chosen the three that caught our eyes this month, so please vote for your favorite:
We will have this vote open through the 5th, and with this winner, we’ll have finished our second semi-annual stretch. We will be taking our last 6 monthly winners and opening up a new vote sometime this month. The winner from the semi-annual vote will win software, some fun hardware and a new, soon to be released hand built wrist strap by yours truly. Stay tuned for that, and in the mean time, please vote for your favorite below and over on Mirrorlessons too!
Thanks to everyone who submitted this month, it really was an awesome group of contributions. Congratulations and good luck to Michael, Fritz and Fabio. Keep submitting, and stay up with new challenges and articles by connecting via Facebook, Twitter, Flickr or Instagram and to stay posted on new articles, feel free to add your email address at the top right of the page here. You’ll get email alerts as new articles are released.
Congratulations to Sami! His image, “Conversations on two levels” is our winner for the Street challenge. Sami will now get to choose our theme for this month so stay tuned. In the mean time, drop by and visit Sami on Flickr HEREto congratulate him. Sami is not also entered into our semi-annual champions challenge where 6 monthly winners will vie for your vote with the winner taking home some free, sweet stuff.
Thanks as always to Heather and Mat from Mirrorlessons. We’ve been jointly putting on these monthly challenges and I love the amount of wonderful photography it has helped expose us all to. Our hope is that it also provides a fun way to motivate us to shoot subjects or concepts we may not have thought to shoot. A fun way to help spur a bit of creative energy as it were.
If you’ve not yet participated in one of these challenges, or just need a reminder as to where to submit your images, visit our Flickr groups. Each month we have a group thread in each of our Flickr groups where you can submit your images for consideration. It’s always free, and has proven to be a great way to network with many amazing folks and get your work out to a larger, online audience.
Hi all. Firstly, let me say thank you to everyone who has purchased my hand built wrist straps over the last 6 months. I’ve continued to tinker with the design, combined with feedback I’ve eliminated the need to decide between a standard or large size instead opting for one singular size that now incorporates a cinch ring. The original 10mm Black and 8mm Green continue, and I’ve added another 8mm in Blue as well as the new 6mm Red.
