It is a great mate to any of the micro 4/3 cameras, especially the GM bodies, and is compact and lightweight enough to go largely unnoticed in the bag. I’ve been shooting the 15mm on the new GX8 with its 20mp sensor providing great results for me.

Yes! As far as I’m concerned, it’s a very good lens, especially for micro Four-Thirds.
I’ve had good results with both stills and video, even on the Olympus E-M1.

I still find the angle of view a little awkward, and really wish they’d have done either a 12mm or 17mm, but all in all, it is a great lens for me, image quality wise. With the 4K vid crop, it does get closer to a standard angle of view, which plays nicely with the GX8 too.

Imagine that I don’t use fixed focal length lenses that often and see how much any of them limits me.
I’ve been using it with the GH4, E-M1, and lately the GX8 and it is well worth the money, though most people wouldn’t think that. They should be happy that it is tiny.

It really is compact, similar to the older Leica M mount lenses being remarkably small FF lens designs, I think they’ve done well to translate some of those design elements into this system as well while not compromising image quality.

Hey David, thanks for the heads up. Wow, not sure how they’re doing that! I’ve never purchased from Digital Rev, but have watched plenty of their review vids 🙂 Guessing they don’t have the US warranty (for us statesiders) but may be wrong there. Impressive.

I really like this lens. I guess most folk will compare it to Pany 14mm or Oly 17mm as its somewhere in between. If it had the clutch manual focus of the Oly it would be perfect, as to my eyes it out-performs both the Pany and Oly in terms of sharpness, rendering and bokeh easily enough. Its great as it is though. It makes me want to trade my much loved Oly 25mm for the Pana-Leica 25mm.

I think that the PL25mm has probably the best color of the Pana Leica lenses. Much like the 15 Summilux and the 42.5 Nocticron, they colors are contrasty and more ‘punchy’ than the cooler profiles of the Lumix and Oly lenses (to my eye). The PL25mm though, is not built to the same physical level that the 15 and 42.5mm are, unfortunately. I can’t speak for the 45mm macro, but the 15 and 42.5 are rock solid while the 25mm is certainly more plasticky for lack of a better word. Still quality, no doubt, but I wish they’d have built it up a bit.
