I’ve slowly been crawling out from the pile of work I’ve created for myself and have gotten around to playing with MacPhun’s Focus 2 Pro.  The beauty of this program is it’s ease and remarkably intuitive skill set.  After playing with and reviewing Tonality Pro, I was very curious to see what else MacPhun had to offer.  If you are a Mac OS user, have a look, download a trial and play around with this fun program.  On sale through the 15th of March, you can download a free trial, or purchase it HERE.  Normally $39.99, it is on sale for 25% off, or $29.99 for the next 10 days.  Upgrades from Standard to Pro can be had for a mere $14.99 as well!  Come on in to see some of what you get with Focus 2 Pro.

Focus 2 Pro aims to provide filters and lens specific effects akin to tilt shift lenses, selective focus via fast optics and lens or motion blur.  You can quickly and repeatably apply these effects via simple application tools.

Focus 2 Pro boils some pretty powerful algorithms down into very intuitive and simplified sliders.  Start by choosing the best category along the bottom for your subject.  From there you can grab and drag all of the handles to adjust sizing of the mask.  The mask is the area of your image that will be untouched by the focus effects, but also the area that you will also be able to adjust the brightness, sharpness, clarity and vividness of.

With the custom setting, you can further adjust linear or radial motion in your out of focus areas as well as mask in or out the effects.  

MacPhun provide Mac specific programs and plugins, and have the following system requirements:

Focus 2 Pro is a really cool and easy to use program if wanting to quickly alter the focus of your images.  It takes very little time to start to see results.  I didn’t quite know what to expect, but after a minute or two, I knew my way around.
